Brevard County, located just east of Orlando, offers everything Orlando lacks.
While we don’t have Disney World or Universal Studios, we do have all of the beautiful coastline and a unique natural environment.
And unless they’re going to one of those amusement parks, that’s really what people come to Florida for. We also have the John F. Kennedy Space Center (more on that later).
You are getting married, though, so in this article, we’re going to be going over 12 of our favorite wedding venues in Brevard County.
Dragonfly Farms is, as you might have guessed, a working farm located within the city limits of Palm Bay.
It’s just far enough away from the big city to feel like you’re getting away from it all while still being close enough to be convenient.
Convenient, but not crowded.
In either direction, it’s only about half an hour from Melbourne Beach and Castaways Point Park and about an hour from the center of downtown Orlando.
You can have all the convenience while also enjoying an idyllic rural setting with a large, beautiful barn, lush fields, and more.
And after your ceremony, you can all go to the beach or Universal Studios (or both).
Best for: Any couple who wants to get married on a charming farm surrounded by nature and then visit several theme parks and beaches nearby, all in the same week.
Full Disclosure: This is our venue. If there’s anything you want to know, please contact us. We’re more than happy to answer any questions you may have. 🙂
Tour One of Brevard County’s Most Charming Wedding Venues
See why so many couples choose Dragonfly Farms for their big day. Explore our beautiful barn, scenic ceremony space, and relaxed farm setting in Palm Bay.
Florida is incredibly lush and biodiverse. That’s one of the things that’s so great about this state. And naturally, we love botanical gardens. So, we need to mention Rockledge Gardens.
Flowers, flowers, and more flowers.
Rockledge Gardens is a lovely botanical garden setting with tropical plants, meandering walkways, and romantic ceremony spaces.
It’s a positively wonderful choice for couples looking for an outdoor wedding space with ample greenery and natural beauty.
Best for: Outdoor wedding ceremonies with a garden theme and environmentally inspired weddings.
The Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront is a beachfront resort with ceremony locations on the beach.
It also has a modern ballroom and a few other event/conference rooms where you can host your reception.
Standard Hilton
As a Hilton resort, this is not the cheapest option on the list and will basically look like any other Hilton, but it will be convenient.
Unless you just really like the standard hotel aesthetic (which some people do), proximity to the beach and the ability to have your ceremony on the sand are the main draws.
Don’t get us wrong, the Hilton is definitely good, and there’s nothing wrong with it, but it isn’t necessarily unique.
So, if you want something less standardized, this might not be it. It’s a hotel chain.
Best for: Couples who want a shoeless beach ceremony and don’t mind the Hilton price tag or a generic hotel and conference room aesthetic.
Our first truly historic venue on this list is a wedding barn built in 1893 that originally served as a post office and trading post.
That was back when Florida was a frontier. In fact, if you can believe it, the population of the entire state of Florida was only just over half a million in 1900 and still under 3 million as recently as 1950.
Classic frontier aesthetic.
The wooden beams, open fields, and cozy reception area make it a solid choice for couples who appreciate American history and want a country style wedding venue near the beach.
Actually, this venue is about the same distance from Melbourne Beach as Dragonfly Farms is.
Best for: A country-style wedding with an in-house rib joint and ice cream shop.
For a truly unique and memorable experience, the historic Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Venue is a maritime-themed location with breathtaking ocean views.
Space! 🪐 🚀
If you’ve heard of Cape Canaveral before, it was probably in reference to the John F. Kennedy Space Center. Well, the Lighthouse is located on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and as such, is technically property of the United States Space Force.
That means you’ll need to plan well in advance and obtain security clearance to host your ceremony there.
Alternatively, you can get married at a different venue and then attend a civilian tour of the Lighthouse and Space Center afterward.
Best for: Couples who want a traditional maritime aesthetic or are highly interested in NASA, Space Force, and the U.S. space program.
Harbour House Oceanfront Venue is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean and offers both ceremony and reception areas with ocean views.
Convenience on the beach.
This venue operates its own shuttle service, so you won’t have to worry about transportation for yourselves or your guests.
If you want to have that shoeless ceremony on the sand without going to the Hilton, this is a great option.
Best for: Elegant beach weddings and sunset wedding ceremonies.
We’ve mentioned this already, but one of the best things about being in Florida is the lush landscape, proximity to the beach, and biodiversity.
And the Nyami Nyami River Lodge at the Brevard Zoo offers all of those in abundance.
Cute animals and lots of green.
As you might expect, there are lots of animals at the zoo.
So, you’re bound to hear lots of animal sounds and see the animals that make those sounds at your wedding.
Best for: Couples who love wildlife and want to be on a tropical river.
